Wii can’t handle Unreal Engine 3
Can it, or can’t it? It’s been a rollercoaster of confirmations and denials the last few years as to whether or not the Wii can handle Epic’s game engine.
WN: It’s also tough to ignore the success of the Wii at this point. Do you guys have any plans to be in that space? Rein: Hey, we’re in that space! Red Steel, Splinter Cell — those use our previous engine technology. But it’s not in our plans to bring Unreal Engine 3 to the Wii. It’s really designed for next-gen, high-definition.
To confuse you even more, it should be noted that in the interview, Chris Kohler stated that one of Epic’s partners is working to get the Unreal Engine 3 working on the Wii. Take that as you will.
