It seems developer Dimple is planning to release a DS Therapy game soon. The game provides what they call “kokorobics,” which is pretty much spiritual aerobics. Dimple has hired experts from Tokyo University to help create a game which asks you a series of questions, after which the game will then tell you how you’re feeling (if you can’t figure it out on your own) and what you could possibly do to make your life happier.
Now, according to The Armchair Empire website, mental health isn’t exactly openly a big topic in Japan, so this little DS non-game will be interesting to watch. I’m not exactly sure why people need things to tell them how they think or feel, but I guess not everyone has a grasp on metacognition or life philosophy. Then again, people in Japan bought a game that taught them common sense, so what do I know.
