Before long he had built up a substantial real estate empire that he ran with his son, Donkey Kong junior, until Trump eventually drove him out of town. The long-running feud between “The Donald and The Donkey†was the stuff of many NY Post headlines until Donkey Kong eventually tired of it and headed across the country. Rarely out of the spotlight for long, Donkey Kong most recently re-surfaced when he ran and lost in the 2003 California Recall Election.
