Word began to spread about Nintendo shipping a third version of their Wii remote wrist straps. Then, it became apparent it was for real. Next, after contacting Nintendo, someone received a claim from Nintendo of Europe that they were not official straps, and that they were third party. Not wanting third party straps, I contacted Nintendo about the version 3 straps I received and was given the following response from Nintendo:
“If the straps came from Nintendo, they are official replacement straps. We contract with many different companies in the manufacturing of our products.” – Mike Chandler, Nintendo of America
So, as expected they’re official, but this time Nintendo’s not denying it.
