Buena Vista Interactive’s newest game based off the hit Disney Channel musical, High School Musical will have you performing musical numbers from the movie using a brand new microphone peripheral for the Wii that will be bundled in with the game. No word on whether this will be an add-on attachment like the nunchuk or classic controller or it’s own stand alone device. High School Musical is slated for July with a price of $69.99 for the bundle.
Now, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I love Disney Channel and High School Musical. A HSM game for the Wii would probably be pretty fun, if they do it right (which isn’t the case with a lot of Disney games out there). But the fact that a microphone peripheral will be coming with the system seems to suggest at least partial karaoke action, which in itself is a step in the right direction. Those are some fun, catchy, albeit cheesy songs in that movie, and now we’ll have something more fun than the Dance-A-Long segments on the DVD.
