The future: old controllers!

Pink Godzilla has a write up on the pros and cons and when to use or not use Retro USB’s new controller adaptors. For those who haven’t heard of them, Retro USB has revealed plans to release a cable that plugs into the GC controller ports on the Wii at one end and plugs into an NES or SNES controller on the other, allowing you to play VC games with the original controllers they were intended for.

…However, original controllers are a lot like old cars. They have a lot a memories, but they also have been around the block a few hundred times and don’t quite run like they used to. Maybe the A button sticks, or some of the pieces are loose from a few too many Contra-induced throws into the wall. These controllers are old, in some cases up to 20 years old, and they’re not getting any younger. If you do use an original controller, just remember that it’s living on borrowed time and it might not be able to keep up like it did in the past…
