Many of us remember when Red Steel was one of the first few Wii titles ever confirmed and the very first Wii title ever shown to the world. Since then, Ubisoft has heavily supported the Wii, from launch to the weeks after with titles such as Rayman Raving Rabbids, Red Steel, Far Cry Vengeance, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Open Season, Monster 4X4: World Circuit, and GT Pro Series.
It looks like their efforts to jump on the bandwagon early are going to pay off, as Ubisoft is expected to post sales numbers far higher than at the same time last year. During the fourth quarter of 2005, Ubisoft reported $141 million retail sales. One year later in 2006, Ubisoft is said to have reached the $168 million sales mark, a 19% increase.
