01/19/07- The Week in Review
Well it has been a full week since the internet world met The Tanooki! We are overjoyed that the site is finally up after many weeks in development. I’m talking about countless hours a day, every day, just to get the site up…
As you can see, we update the site as much as we can, which is turning out pretty well so far. We are still getting used to devoting several hours a day to update the site, but I love it so far! The biggest surprise so far was the amount of feedback we received on the top 7 games to look forward to in 2007 article.
Because we update so frequently, older stories are always being pushed back deep into the site. We are considering either doing a daily recap, bi-daily recap, or a weekly digest of the best articles. Since we are well past the daily mark, let’s try out the week in review concept now! We would love to have feedback on which format to use.
RECAP TIME!
First off: for those of you still wii-less, we highly suggest picking one up. You will now be able to pick one up at Best Buy on Sunday. Plan on getting there really earlier. Like, camping out overnight early.
Two awesome games came out this week: WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Justice for All for the DS. I will now be doing a video review for WarioWare! Look for that sometime this week if all goes well.
The Virtual Console continued it’s steady pace of 3 new releases this past Monday. I’m pretty sure we have scrolling shooter overload on the Wii right now… My article will hopefully steer your Wii points in the right direction.
Kingdom Hearts fans became quite the confused bunch this week. One site explained why Kingdom Hearts might spend some quality time on the Wii. Two days later, another site explained why Kingdom Hearts will be Wii-less.
The Wii might be the “hip” console to the world right now, but it also became an ideal way to shed a few pounds. WiiNintendo ran an excellent experiment by using Wii Sports as a way to try lose some weight. Very awesome.
Nintendo really knows how to put together an innovative product these days. Seriously, we haven’t seen Nintendo take as many risks since the Virtual Boy. This time it seems to be paying off, but is this just the beginning for the Wii Remote and DS?
Mathamagicians rejoiced as we discovered completion calculators for Wii Sports and Twilight Princess!
People who like to look inside of stuff also had a red letter week as we got to look inside the Wii and Wii remote.
Let’s not forget about people who love to spend money on expensive weird crap. If you are one of these people, your room will soon be taken over by statues from Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Metroid.
Now for the week’s low point: As the whole country knows by now, a radio contest was held to win a Wii. The “hold your wee for a Wii” quickly turned tragic as one contestant died from water intoxication. The backlash from the contest resulted in the firing of 10 people, including the idiot DJs who ran the contest. This entire situation is really unfortunate, but I really feel that anybody involved in the contest should really reevaluate their life. You don’t hold a contest that pushes a human body to the absolute limit. On the other hand, these contestants REALLY needed to know when to just give up. I choose to blame all of this on reality tv.
On a lighter note: we saw a random photo of a really cool way to play Twilight Princess. Although I’m sure somebody would get their eye poked out from the sword. Then Nintendo would be put out of business for making a game that requires sword swinging…
And now for the home stretch…
Being the creative mind that Christian is, we got to read his thoughts on what we might see in a Nintendo Theme Park. If this ever came true, I would board the next flight to Japan.
Oh…and we also had our first mailbag on Sunday. It was a ton of fun to answer the questions, so we really would love for everybody to contribute some more questions!
Well that’s all for this week! If you are still reading this, I really really thank you. I had no idea that this recap would be such a long article.
Finally, we really want to thank everybody who visited the site this week. If you have visited more than once, we really thank you! This entire site has been a blast thus far and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for it!

The site is pretty enjoyable to look at with so many things posted it is amazing, I am also guessing that virtually anyone can sumbmit news stuff?
Yep! Anyone can submit news, and as long as we believe it has relevance to Nintendo fans or all gamers in general, and there’s nothing illegal, we’ll gladly post about it and credit you for the tip! :)
