Guitar Hero goes to Neversoft

Following several rumors last week, Neversoft has updated their website asking for applicants to work on the next Guitar Hero game. For those that don’t know, Harmonix was responsible for developing the previous two successful Guitar Hero games. However, RedOctane, the publisher, has apparently handed the responsibility for the next Guitar Hero to Neversoft, who you may know of as the developer of the Tony Hawk games.

As to why development of Guitar Hero III (which is what the job positions are for) was given to Neversoft even after Harmonix had huge success on the first two is anyone’s guess, as is what this means for any possible release on the Wii. It should be noted, though, that Neversoft does tend to like developing for Nintendo consoles, so it’s merely a matter of whether or not RedOctane has them do it. Hopefully we’ll hear more from official sources soon.

Ugh. This sucks. At least this will definitely extend Guitar Hero’s franchise life by 3906 more titles. Stupid Tony Hawk…

I’d love to see one more Guitar Hero game. I had a great idea that they need to use.

Instead of making new games, just have players download more songs to play like on Karoke Revolution. They don’t need to add anything more to the game, just more songs. If you could download 5 new songs for 5 dollars each week, Guitar Hero would make a TON of money.
