Why the GameCube failed

Maunderlust takes a detailed look at why the GameCube failed from the perspective of someone who loved his GameCube very much. Several topics are taken under microscope, including differentiation from Sony and Microsoft, the impact Microsoft had to and did make with its entry into the business, GameCube software (or a lack thereof), the GameCube’s exterior design, and the many number of attempted and failed gimmicks for its games. It’s a decent read, so be sure to take a look.

I hope we can just call the N64 and Gamecube Nintendo's "high school" years.

They had potential, but made stupid mistakes. And like most post-highschool teens, they hopefully will learn from their mistakes and turn their newfound knowledge into something truly amazing.
  • I don't believe it was a failure. It may have sold the least of the 3 big systems, but Nintendo made a profit on each and every one that was sold. It may have failed in the eyes of the public, but Nintendo could probably care less. They made a profit, and that's all that matters to them.
