GameCube game sales triple since November
This isn’t surprising, but it’s good to get some reassurance. Apparently the release of the Wii and its ability to play GameCube games has prompted several Wii owners to head to the stores to pick up some discounted GameCube games they may have missed out on last gen, especially if they never owned a GameCube. I know I’ve seen a lot of titles for under $20 new, and I even saw an ad for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for $9 new… I already had it, but at that price I was considering getting copies for friends who never tried it!
Hopefully Nintendo will continue to produce all of the good games, whether blockbuster hits or severely underrated games (like Fire Emblem) for a new generation of gamers to experience games they haven’t yet gotten a chance to play…especially since it will probably be a few generations before GameCube-sized games arrive on a future iteration of the Virtual Console.
