Nintendo raises estimates for the 2006 fiscal year
According to Reuters, Nintendo has officially raised its financial forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 31. The new estimates predict an operating profit of 185 billion yen ($1.6 billion), up 28 percent from the previous 145 billion yen forecast, as well as up from a 90.3 billion yet profit in the 2005 fiscal year. Revenue forecasts were increased to 900 billion yen, up 22 percent from the previous 740 billion yen prediction. One KBC Securities analyst, Hiroshi Kamide, noted that after a 509.2 billion yen profit in 2005 and a projected 900 billion yen profit in 2006, Nintendo should easily be a one-trillion yen sales company for 2007.
